ECUs are like a Box of Chocolates...
You never know exactly what you're gonna get. A breakout box could help! Also called monitoring box, test box, I/O-expander or simply BoB. BoB warmly lays his heart to your hands. Or better to say: The heart of the ECU.
Usually for test purposes, breakout boxes are switched between an electronic control unit or a datalogger and the belonging wiring loom with its sensors, actuators etc. The test box allows in-situ electric measurements at that unit without disassembling of connectors or interventing the electric harness. Furthermore, data busses (e.g. CAN, RS232, USB) can be analysed easily. Depending by the exact make of the BoB, ECU inputs and outputs can be disconnected and independend test signals injected.
Aamgard Engineering build bespoken breakout boxes to customer requirements. We also provide standardised BoBs and adapters for many autosport, aerospace, automotive and industrial connectors.

Tested and Ready for Packing - Aamgard FIA Rain Lights
Starting with inspecting of incoming goods, each Aamgard LED rear lamp needs a lot of single production steps: Fitting the PCBs with LEDs, regulators etc., interim test, building the wiring or connector set, final assembly, cleaning, product labeling, final test, printing the instruction leaflet and packing all together.
Depending on the customer's requirement, every single lamp is measured and certified by light intensity, current consumption and weight: Min. 420cd and max. 550mA resp. 98g are the demands to our FIA rain lights. No other manufacturer gains these data. Since years, this is why the German DTM and many car manufacturers and racing teams put on the AX02 / AX03 products.
